Francisco Hung was born in 1937 in Kwangchow, China. From Venezuelan mother, Eulalia Bracho and Chinese father, Juan Hung. The father had his business in Maracaibo on Avenida "El Milagro", where he exported to Cantón Cartucho, a fish that is very popular in China. She travels a lot and when she marries Eulalia, she takes her to Kwangchow, where they had six children, Francisco Gabriel being the youngest. His father gave him a Chinese name "Lei Kiun" which means "Encouragement to power". They remain in Canton until World War II breaks out and Japan invades China.
